reverse psychology can work for you!

George is up from his nap. "I need a snack!"

Me, exhausted and exasperated from trying to pack for a vacation, with 3 kids who are unbelievably crabby. "Oh fine, I will just give you some cookies." (Could not have been less up for the daily Great Snack Debate where he angles for something he calls "a treat snack" and I push for something healthier.)

George, suddenly suspicious: "Why did you say it like that? 'Oh fine?' Why cookies?"

*pause*

"I just want a yogurt today."

Me: stunned silence. tiny mental victory dance.
